Introduction

In this article I will express my views on “does democracy create social stability”. First of all, I will give a summary of what democracy is.

Basically, democracy means a state in which the supreme power is given to the people and exercised by them directly or indirectly through a system of representation that often involves free elections from time to time. To put it another way, it is a form of governance in which everyone in the country is treated equally and has the right to decide and vote on the members of the government. Today, democracy is often used as a promise of peace, prosperity, and happiness for all.

In addition, democracy incorporates the following elements; citizen participation, equality, political tolerance, accountability, transparency, free and fair elections, economic freedom, control of the abuse of power and rights debts.

In my view, I support the claim that democracy creates stability in society. First, I think the best thing about a democratic system is that it provides for change in government without violence. Instead of handing over power to a party with a large number of soldiers ready to fight for the cause we submit to the view that the number of votes will be sufficient for the position.

Secondly, I think one of the most important benefits of democracy is that since the majority of people living under a democratically elected government are happy with that government or at least participate in his takeover, they will also have to take responsibility for it. failure. Thus, if the policy is largely supportive, people will not be inclined to blame others as they did in the first place and thus reduce conflicts.

Third, many conflicts such as riots or strikes occur because of differences in opinion between politicians and the common people. Therefore, with democracy, as everyone’s point of view can be heard in government and policies will be shaped in their views, conflicts will be greatly reduced.

An example of a prosperous democracy is Singapore. While it is not an individual democracy, it is a mixture of Authority and Democracy, also known as the Democracy of the Authority. Singapore has been widely praised as a good example of democracy, “a developed and prosperous nation”. This can only happen because of an effective political system, which results in a stable society.

However, democracy does not always guarantee success. I think democracy sometimes “selects” dictators in power. Over the years, there have been many instances of democratic disputes. In Africa, for example, the government has threatened to cut back on non-voters. So everyone, including the poor and downtrodden, had no choice but to vote for these corrupt and corrupt rulers. They cannot vote for a potential candidate who is willing to fight for their cause and to help resolve their grievances. This creates tensions and tensions in the world, and people who feel oppressed may still cause unrest. When people feel that they are not being heard, they are going to take it personally and the situation can get worse and the change can be very quick.

Therefore, in this study I would say that democracy cannot guarantee social stability but it can serve as a good cover for dictators. The dictators are hiding behind a democratic faction, saying, “We are legal! We are a democracy! ” They are entirely “covered” by the voting process and will claim to be voting for power but, in reality, they have been securing their position through solid football tactics. Therefore, the ruling party controls almost everything and if voting really changed anything, they would not let us do it. So this does not guarantee social stability as this will create poverty and conflict in the country. This could lead to anger and serious economic ills and national instability.

Democracy is about personal choice. People, on the other hand, are not often given much of a choice. Inexperienced voters are easily shaken during the election campaign. The ruling party often exploits this and tries to use its fat budget and almost endless resources during the election to hang “carrots” in front of the people’s faces and try to move votes at a crucial time during elections. However, this can happen in a group of ignorant people and feelings. Therefore, we are in big trouble if the majority are made up of such people.

Another negative aspect of democracy is that the majority get whatever they want and thus a few feel oppressed and this also leads to the problem that a potential candidate feels powerless to fight for their cause due to the limited number of votes. These few may find that they are not given much attention and thus stage a protest to voice their concern. This can lead to clashes with the police and violence, which shows that democracy can also lead to social instability.

So, in conclusion, I think a democratic nation can reduce conflict and create social stability as long as there are fair elections and different political parties should be honest and “go with the letter” and not resort to any means or subjugation. to get votes.
