Countable Nouns/Common Noun Have to Numbers:-

  1. Singular Number
  2. Plural Number

Singular Number

noun that stands for only one personanimalplace or thing is said to be in the singular Number

Examples – boybirdapple, Toy, Table, Pen, Chair, Cat .

Plural Number

A noun that stands for more than one personanimalplace or thing is said to be in the plural number.

Examples – boysbirdsapples, Tables, Pens, Chairs, Cats.

Singular and Plural Rules for class 3

Rule 1: Addition of ‘s’ to change into Plural form. (Most of the nouns take ‘s’)

For Example : Hen – Hens, Rat- Rats, Boy- Boys, Book- Books

Rule 8 : Noun that end in ‘f’ or ‘fe’ usually change the f sound to v and add ‘s ‘ or ‘es’.
