Sir,
Through the columns of your newspaper allow me to highlights the ill-treatment met out to stray dogs in posh urban areas. The stray dogs are most often ill-treated at the hands of callous and indifferent people. The number of stray dogs is increasing day by day. They remain hungry due to the scarcity of food. The stray dogs, therefore follow the persons who step out of their houses in the hope of getting food. Most of the hard-hearted people kick them or throw stones at them. These children also follow in the footsteps of the elders. They pull the ears or the tails of the puppies. Sometimes the elderly dogs bark at the people or bite some of them/this has created a threatening atmosphere in the area.
Kindly create awareness in the public to treat even the start dogs with kindness and affection. Also, awaken the M.C.D not to trap or kill them but to shelter them. They deserve to be tamed rather than spurned. The ailing dog should be healed rather than poisoned.
