Sir,

Through the columns of your esteemed newspaper, I express my anguish at the deterioration in the standard of living in Delhi. All know that the present era has been designated modern and completion with Delhi as our capital which is expected to present a model city of the world.

All know that Delhi has remained a prosperous, fashionable, and beautiful place with numerous worth seeing historical places. One feels a pleasurable experience of dwelling in the capital as one could saunter leisurely over the ridges and avenues. But Delhi has won the notoriety of being the most polluted city as the open space has been converted into skyscrapers.

The slum areas have come up and rather new ones are coming up every day. The crime rate and cases of accidents are, kidnapping, etc are increasing alarmingly. Being the center of national activities, all are lured by the glamour of Delhi and none wants to leave the city. Thus the population and congestion are on increase. Consequently one can see the deterioration in the standard of living.

We can get rid of this deterioration if the government offices, industries, and residential complexes are settled in the national capital region. There is also a need to control the population pressure.
