Essay on School
Introduction:
We all have many sweet and sour memories of our school. Most of us graduate from high school from one school but some students like me have to change more than a few schools. School leaves a huge impression on our minds. It affects our way of thinking and teaches us to live in a foreign land. Not surprisingly, it is called the second home of the child.
I also like my school. Although I have been studying here for two years, there are many kinds of emotions that I have developed in my current school. Basically, I belong to the beautiful state of Rajasthan. But for some family reasons, I had to come to Bhubaneswar. It is the capital of the province of Orissa.
Early Days at My School:
I started my studies here as a 7th grader obviously, there was a lot of cultural diversity between my previous school and this one. The language, the weather, the food, and the means of communication were all different here. For the first few months, it was a struggle to adjust to the new environment. But gradually, he began to feel normal.
Status:
My classmates and teachers have been very supportive. It is an integrated school that means that girls and boys live together and participate freely. Our school has a big building. It is located in the center of the city, away from the city’s suburbs. We go to school by bus.
The teachers at my school are from different parts of the country. My English teacher is from southern India and my science teacher is a very respected lady from America who lived in India a few years ago. She is a tour guide and teaches us about her love of teaching work.
The students at my school come from a variety of family backgrounds. Some come from a very simple family. And some come from well-known and well-educated families. For example, the parents of one of my classmates are scientists and the parents of one of my classmates are teachers. But all the students are treated equally at my school and this is what makes me really proud of my school.
Our School Campus:
My school has a three-story building. All of the classrooms are spacious and well-kept. Keep them tidy. Large classroom windows allow enough sunlight in the rooms. In the summer, we use the breeze on our school as the climate here is hot and humid.
We also have a large playground at the school where our daily meeting takes place and all the other activities. At the morning meeting, everything was arranged for the students only. From playing instruments to reading stories and helping students line up to their classrooms, students take care of all the activities.
What I Enjoy Most About My School:
It’s a lunch boarding school. Therefore, all children get breakfast and lunch on the school side itself. The food cooked here is hot and fresh. You can get additional servings as often as you like. Although at first, it was new to my taste buds, I soon fell in love with Oriya cuisine.
There are many additional academic activities taught to students here. To name a few, we have a traditional Oriya dance section. After that, there are self-defence classes and an additional phase of learning your favorite foreign language.
Discipline and rules:
Discipline and cleanliness are a big part of my schooling. Every day, the elders form a team to check the hygiene of the younger ones. The obligation of each senior student is fixed. From shoes to nails and clean clothing, everything is thoroughly inspected.
Classes at my school start from playing until they reach level 10. Honesty and punctuality are important habits in my school. Even teachers and children from the lower classes came to school on time and followed all the rules.
Once inside the school grounds, we are not allowed to speak our mother tongue. All students must speak English to each other. And the rules are therefore very strict. Although it sounds like a difficult rule, it has improved our spoken English in a positive way.
Additional course activities:
Our principal loves discipline but also shows us great love and warmth. Students can approach him directly to share their concerns. He also makes sure that we enjoy being taught by our teachers and not being bored. That is why it is possible to schedule regular trips to explore nearby cities, which I enjoy very much.
I look forward to the annual sports day scheduled for my school. There are many sports activities to encourage us and keep our mind and body healthy. I also participate in the activities of my school year. It is set up in the largest hall in Bhubaneswar. We practice it for a few days before we finish working on stage.
My fondest memories at school:
Last year, my classmates and teens made my birthday special. My desk was full of gifts and greeting cards. They have poured so much love into me. When I was young here, all my classmates were very helpful and made it easy for me to stay here without much trouble.
They are kind enough to teach me their local language ‘Oriya’. Over time, I have learned to read and write basic words and sentences in the language. Our school also introduced me to the practice of writing and sharing books with our writers.
My school taught me many important things like helping others, not making fun of others, respecting the elders and loving the young. Over time, I have amassed many precious memories here and feel grateful to God for giving me such a rich learning environment.
I always loved my school and wherever I went, I would always be proud of it all my life.
