The roadside dwellers are deprived of civic amenities like light, public toilets, etc. People live in darkness at night, defecate and bathe in the open. The whole area reeks of a foul smell all the time In the summer and rainy seasons. Here, we are discussing how to write a letter regarding problems of road-dwellers.

Your residential area is flooded with roadside dwellers who are deprived of the basic civic amenities like light, public toilets, and bathrooms. Write a letter to the editor of”the Hindustan Times”, highlighting the problem of these roadside dwellers, and also the problems posed by them to the public. Give suggestions for improvement.

Sir,

I would like to use your columns to draw the attention of the authorities to provide basic civic amenities to the roadside dwellers residing at Mahalakshmi Apartments, Patparganj, Delhi, you know that more than thousands of families are staying on both sides of the roads. They are devoid of water, light, bathrooms, and public toilets. They ease themselves around them. This causes a health hazard to all and the environment is put under complete pollution. As these people belong to poor strata of the society so they can not keep their surroundings neat and clean. This may give birth to many dangerous diseases. On the other hand, they remain busy with theft and other evil activities at night because there is no street light. Consequently, the life of a common passer-by is put at stake. When they were allowed to settle, the government should have thought of their problems. You know providing the civic amenities is the first and foremost duty of the city administration. It is, therefore, requested that necessary civic amenities be given to them and this will relieve the residents too. Residential accommodation should be allotted to them
