Subject: Corrupt practices in schools.

Sir,

Through the columns of your newspaper, I want to highlight corrupt and heinous practices available in public schools throughout the country. Of course, some schools have a good reputation and their charge are reasonable, but most of them admit students like goats and sheep to hoard them in a herd. These small blooming flowers remain undeveloped and uncared for academically, mentally, and physically because a class containing 60-70 students can never be properly attended by a single teacher.  A period has 40 minutes with the teacher. How can he pay individual attention to a child as a single minute does not come to his share? All know that a child is the future property of the nation. In reality, these schools have turned into shops where one can purchase goods. A teacher cannot establish personal contact with his students because this is the basic crux of education. As a result, the student feels neglected, and his personality development hampers. This is the stage that needs proper attention and the same is being denied to the boy. Consequently, the students waste their time and energy and may become a victim of inferiority complex or fall a victim to some bad habit. Lack of a congenial atmosphere is not the cause of the falling standard of education in India. This also creates a problem of drop-outs and delinquent children.

Under these basic facts, the problem needs a high check-up on the part of the government. I think the ministry will feel the problem at the root and take steps to improve this evil practice.

Yours faithfully,
Raunak/Raksha,
Social Worker
