Sentences for Class 3 With Example 

A group of words that make sense together is called a sentence.
For Example:

  • Father is walking to the market.
  • Manisha draws a picture.

Every complete sentence contains two parts: a subject and a predicate.

Subject   Predicate
am so excited.
Shrey likes to surprise people.
We go to school.

4 Types of Sentences for class 3

There are four types of sentences in English. They are:

  1. Declarative sentence
  2. Interrogative sentence
  3. Exclamatory sentence
  4. Imperative sentence

1. A declarative sentence

Sentences that make a statement; end with a full stop.

For example:

  • I want to be a doctor.
  • We are going to Shimla.

2. An interrogative sentence 

Sentences that ask a question; end with a question mark.

For example:

  • Where do you live?
  • What is your name?
  • will you help me?

3. An exclamatory sentence

Sentences that express surprise or a strong emotion such as joy, sorrow, surprise, excitement, etc; end with an exclamation mark.

For example:

  • What a beautiful painting!
  • Bravo! We won!

4. An imperative sentence

Sentences that make a request or give a command; end with a full stop.

For example:

  • Get out.
  • Please keep quiet.
  • Stay in your seat.
