A Report of Fire Accident in a Slum Area

Our city (colony) is surrounded by slum areas. I had gone to a slum. I witnessed that a very devastating fire broke out yesterday in one of the sum colonies in the early hours of the morning. It was learned that a timely alarm was given by the night watchman as soon as he saw the rays of smoke emitting out from a hut. The fire brigade was rung up and the residents of all the juts ran out with their buckets of water but the fire could not be brought under control. In the twinkling of ay eye, the fire spread and the whole colony came in its spate. The residents of the colony were crying mercilessly. All the huts were gutted. Two women and two children were burnt alive. All their property was reduced to ashes. I was very much disturbed at the pathetic sight. I related the whole incident in the school assembly. The students of your school rendered their physical services and gave material help to the victims. The government has ensured the victims of all possible help.
