Definition of the pronoun for class 4: A pronoun is a kind of phrase that replaces a noun. (I, me, he, she, you, it, that, they, each, few, many, who, someone, everybody, etc.)

Pronouns can be used to speak about an individual or factor or extra than one individual or thing.

Types of Pronoun

There are 5 types of pronouns according to the class 4 syllabus. So here, we will cover only the following types listed below:

  1. Personal pronouns
  2. Possessive pronouns
  3. Interrogative pronouns
  4. Demonstrative pronouns
  5. Distributive pronouns

Pronoun-for-class-4

1. Personal pronouns

The pronouns I, we, he, she, it, the, her, him, us, we, me, and you are called personal pronouns. They come in place of people, animals, or things.

3 Types of Personal Pronouns

The first person refers to the speaker or the group that includes the speaker.
Example: I, me, we, us

The second person is the speaker’s audience or the person being spoken to.
Example:  you

The third person is the person spoken about.
Example: he, she, him, her, it, they, them

Personal Pronoun Examples:-

  1. His father is a lawyer.
  2. When we get to the bridge, let’s cross it.
  3. You learn to write by writing.
  4. He plays badminton in our academy.
  5. It’s simple to do what we want.
  6. He is wise and trustworthy.

2. Possessive pronoun

A possessive pronoun is a word that replaces a noun (or a noun phrase) and indicates ownership like “mine,” “yours,” “his,” “hers,” “ours,” andtheirs“.

Examples:-

  1. This pen is mine.
  2. The cricket pad is theirs.
  3. This seat is mine. Where is yours?
  4. We finished our dinner. How about yours?
  5. This is all our books.
  6. The entire security force is theirs.
  7. She is our class teacher, not yours.
  8. These are my books.
  9. These all are my fans, not hers.
  10. My friend always refuses to travel. His back pain increases during travel.

Possessive Pronoun Worksheet

3. Interrogative pronoun

Interrogative pronouns are a kind of pronouns that are used to ask questions. Their antecedent is the reply to the question, both a noun, noun phrase, or pronoun.

Interrogative pronouns reply to open-ended questions, which means the reply varies between options. They encompass what, who, where, when, why, which, whose, whom, and how.

Examples:-

  1. To those who believe in God.
  2. What can I expect from you?
  3. Age remembers what youth forgets.
  4. Those who help themselves are blessed by God.
  5. Whose idea is it, anyway?
  6. What is your today’s strategy?
  7. Who is to blame for this?
  8. Only he whose homework is completed.

  3. She accepts her fault at that moment.
  4.  This kind of behavior is very rude.
  5. That incident was unforgettable for me.
  6. This place is better than that one.
  7. This pen has a beautiful writing experience.

  3. Neither of my parents is a teacher.
  4. Each one of them has its own duty.
