Pronouns for Class 3

Definition of pronoun: A pronoun is a word that replaces a noun phrase or noun expression (a name, place, or thing in a sentence, phrase, or word).

Pronouns can be used for one person or more than one person.

Read the table given below:-

Examples:-

  1. Suhani is my best friend. Suhani loves cooking.
    Suhani is my best friend. She loves cooking.
  2. Rahul, Vijay, and Shekhar are going to play cricket.
    They are going to play cricket.
  3. Will Alex be going to the party with Peter?
    Will she be going to the party with him?
  4. Ruhi is a dancer. Ruhi is an intelligent girl.
    Ruhi is a dancer. She is an intelligent girl.
  5. John brought some cards from Anita.
    He brought some cards from her.

In the above sentences, we can see that Suhani (noun) has been replaced with she (Pronoun) when the sentence is referring her the second time. Similarly, Rahul, Vijay, and Shekhar are replaced with they, Alex is replaced with she, Peter is replaced with him, Ruhi is replaced with she, John is replaced with him, and Anita is replaced with her.
