Definition of interjection for class 7: An interjection is a mood-showing word, it tells strong feelings. It tells the happy, sad, annoyed, and surprising mood of the subject in the sentence.
An interjection always succeded by an exclamation mark (!) at the end.
Sometimes when interjection is used with other words to show strong feelings it does not include any verb.
For Example:
- How strange! (no verb)
- What a beauty! (no verb)
As in the above sentences, interjection conveys a complete sense they usually stand alone.

4. Interjections of Attention
An interjection of attention is used to show or draw the attention or concern of someone. Look, listen, behold, hush, ssh, etc. are words used to describe interjections of attention.

- Hush! The baby is sleeping.

5. Interjection for Sorrow
The interjection of sorrow is used to express sorrow or grief as sadness or pain by someone. Aah, aww, ouch, oww, Alas, etc. are words used to describe the interjection of sorrow.
Examples:-
- Alas! He is no more.

- Ouch! The bat hit me badly.
