Definition of interjection: An interjection is a word or appearance that take place as a remark on its own reaction or feelings as it expresses sudden emotions feelings request and demands.

Examples of Interjections:-

  1. Ouch! The ant bites me.
  2. Wow! what a design the necklace is.
  3. Shh! The baby is sleeping.
  4. Oh! it was very expensive.
  5. Hurray! My sister wins the first position.
  6. Hello! myself Pallavi.

1. Interjection of Greeting

The interjection of greetings is used to express or to greet a person or a sense of concern for another person by greeting him.
Hi, what’s up, hello, hey are some interjections of greeting.

Examples:-

  1. Hey! Can you tell me where is Tom?
  2. Hello! My self is Rosy.
  3. Hi! What are you doing nowadays?
  4. Hello! Was everyone present at the assembly?
  5. Hii! Will you go to meet him tomorrow?
  6. Hey! Can you explain this fact to me?
  7. Hey! My little sister are you busy?
  8. Hello! How are you feeling now?
  9. Hey! Can you give me an empty box?
  10. Hi! Nice to meet you again.

2. Interjection of Joy

The interjection of joy is used to express the sudden feeling of happiness incident or news that makes a person happy.
Hurrah, yippee, wow are some interjections of joy.

Examples:-

  1. Hurrah! I got the first position.
  2. Wow! What a pretty gown.
  3. Yippee! We are going to picnic.
  4. Yahoo! We passed the quiz.
  5. Ha ha! He is making us laugh.
  6. Congratulations! You win the lucky draw.

  8. Hurrah! He passed the exam.
  9. Wow! What a design of the necklace.

3. Interjection of Sorrow

An interjection of sorrow is used to express or convey the feeling of sorrow or some bad happening at a bad moment. It also refers to the sadness or bad incident or news that happens.
Ouch, Alas, Ah, Oh are some interjections of sorrow.

Examples:-

  1. Ouch! My knee is paining.
  2. Ah! The mosquito bites me.
  3. Damm! He had not completed the project.
  4. Alas! The baby fell down from the bed.
  5. Oops! I forgot my bag in the car.

4. Interjection of Surprise

Interjection of surprise is used to express an intense or sudden surprise over a new thought or an incident.
Oh, What, Eh, Ah, Wow are some interjections of surprise.

  2. Oh! My bag is lost.
  3. Well! You had done a good job.
  4. Ah! Did you complete the file on time?
  5. What! He is shifting to Bombay.

5. Interjection of Approval

The interjection of approval is used to express acceptance, and agreement on something that had occurred.
Bravo, well done, brilliant are some interjections of approval.

Examples:-

  1. Well done! You scored good marks on the exam.
  2. Bravo! She cleared the first round.
  3. Brilliant! Your article is very helpful to me
  4. Yummy! The food is so tasty
  5. Well done! The role-play is very interesting to watch it.
  6. Bravo! My brother wins the match.
  7. Brilliant! Your handwriting is very good.
  8. Bravo! My father bought me a watch.
  9. Yummy! I like Chinese food.
  10. Brilliant! Your acting looks real in the act.

6. Interjection of Attention

Interactions of attention are used to express how to draw the concentration of someone.
Listen, look, Hush, excuse me are some interjections of attention.

Examples:-

  1. Listen! You had to complete your work till night.
  2. Look! He is going to the mall.
  3. Hush! The children are studying for exams.
  4. Behold! The dress is so beautiful.
  5. Shh! The baby is sleeping.
  6. Oh! You had not given the money to the shopkeeper.
  7. No! How can you forget my book?
  8. Hey! He is calling you outside.
  9. Listen! Your shoes look expensive.
  10. Oh! The water falls down on the floor.
