1. Who Moved My Cheese- by Dr. Spencer Johnson

It is a classic book for anyone dealing with procrastination who wants to improve their life. It unleashes some of the profound truths in the world. A straightforward and short read story with only 96 pages.

It is a story about how we are stuck with one mentality. Some people are not willing to change their life. They want to stay with the same old-age mentality. While others are striving hard to perform better, they are improving their lives, cutting the competition, and making themselves the best. It’s a story about four mice, two of them with human intelligence with an animal body, and the other two were animals. The most important lesson that the book taught us is to keep moving and improving ourselves constantly.

2. Mieko And The Fifth Treasure- by Eleanor Coerr

This book is not the most famous, but I would highly recommend it to everyone. Again, one great thing about this book is that it is a short read with only 77 pages. It will take you 3-4 hours to finish if you are a native English reader. This book won’t bore you; it will keep you engaged with its content as it is a story of a young girl living in Japan. You will get to learn about its culture and nature.

The story revolves around a young girl who has good handwriting and writes beautiful calligraphy. Due to the war, her hand got damaged because of the bombardment. She was afraid to move to her grandparents’ House, but eventually, she did. She did not have many friends. Her classmates were mean to her because she was a new admission. But she found a good friend, Yoshi, because of Yoshi’s generous nature.

3. The House On The Mango Street- by Sandra Cisneros

This is an exciting read. While reading through this book, you will like the protagonist (the main character). This book contains short sentences and easy-to-understand words. There are only a few complicated words, but they can be understood with context. The wonderful thing about this book is that you learn a lot about a different culture.

This book revolves around the life of Esperanza. She moved from her old home to a new home, the only home owned by her parents. In her new home, she felt lost and did not feel herself. She decided she would change her life. With the new House, she had many changes in her life; she made new friends, developed into a grown woman, saw many changes in her body. Esperanza was also attracted to a boy. Her life took a spin. Esperanza was embarrassed about her family being poor, so to escape her sadness, she wrote poems. There is a lot of focus on other women in the community, and Esperanza hopes never to be like them. She knows that she wants to leave by watching the older women and how they are stuck.
